Your Recovery, Supported Every Step of the Way

At Luviacure, your care does not end when you leave Istanbul. From the moment you return home, our patient support team is actively involved in monitoring your recovery and keeping you connected to your clinical team abroad.

This page explains how our aftercare programme works, what support is available to you in the UK, and what to expect if complications arise or further treatment is needed.

Our Commitment

Luviacure is one of the few UK-registered medical tourism companies to include a structured 12-month aftercare programme as standard with every procedure.

Every Luviacure patient benefits from a dedicated UK-based support team, scheduled clinical follow-ups, and access to independent recovery support in London. Our aftercare is not an add-on. It is built into every package from day one.

How Our 12-Month Aftercare Programme Works

Every Luviacure patient receives structured remote aftercare for a full 12 months following their procedure. Whether you have undergone cosmetic surgery at one of our hospital partners, a hair transplant at one of our own clinics, or dental treatment at our dedicated dental clinic, the same standard of post-procedure support applies.

Your recovery will be checked at the following intervals:

1

Week

1

Month

3

Months

Months

12

Months

At each stage, you will be asked to share photographs of your treatment area. These are passed directly to your clinician in Istanbul, who reviews your progress and provides any medical guidance needed.

Between scheduled check-ins, you are welcome to contact the support team at any time. You can reach us by email, send photos for review, or request a phone callback during office hours.

Staying in regular contact with us after returning home makes a real difference to how smoothly your recovery is managed. Our team acts as the bridge between you and your clinician, flagging any concerns promptly and keeping your care on track.

Who Holds Clinical Responsibility for Your Recovery?

Your treating clinician remains responsible for your care

Your treating clinician in Istanbul holds full clinical responsibility for your post-operative care. All medical decisions regarding your recovery, healing, and treatment outcomes are made by them.

Luviacure's role is to coordinate communication, facilitate follow-ups, and ensure nothing falls through the gaps. We are not a clinical provider and do not make medical decisions on your behalf.

If at any point your clinician believes a physical examination in the UK would be beneficial, they will advise you of this through our team. This recommendation comes from your clinician, not from Luviacure.

Please follow your agreed post-operative recovery plan throughout. If you are considering any changes to your aftercare routine, check with your clinician before doing so.

Local Recovery Support Available in the UK

Some patients prefer to have access to hands-on recovery support closer to home, particularly in the weeks immediately following their return. This is entirely understandable and something we can help facilitate.

You are free to consult any independent healthcare practitioner of your choice in the UK. If it would be useful, we can share the contact details of a London-based independent clinic that a number of our previous patients have visited for practical recovery support. Simply contact our team to request this.

Support may include

  • Wound checks and inspection

  • Dressing and wound care

  • Personal hygiene guidance during recovery

  • Reassurance and general recovery advice

It is important to understand that this type of support is supplementary. It is not a substitute for your clinical follow-up with your treating clinician, and it does not involve any medical decision-making about your surgical result.

Please also note that any such appointments are:

  • Entirely at your own discretion

  • Arranged and managed directly between you and the practitioner

  • Billed directly to you by the practitioner

  • Outside the scope of Luviacure's management or supervision

When In-Person Medical Review Is Needed in the UK

In most cases, remote follow-ups with your clinician in Istanbul are sufficient to manage your recovery safely. However, if your clinician has concerns that cannot be properly assessed remotely, or if there are signs of a complication such as a seroma, wound issues, signs of infection, or implant-related concerns, they may recommend an in-person assessment with a qualified medical professional in the UK.

In these situations, Luviacure can refer you to an independent London-based clinic with experience in post-operative medical care. Contact our support team to request a referral.

Support may include

  • Seroma drainage

  • Suture placement, where the wound is free from infection or swelling

  • Suture removal

  • Wound care and dressing management

  • Supportive injections

All appointments with independent practitioners are arranged directly between you and the clinic. Luviacure does not manage these appointments and does not hold responsibility for clinical decisions made during them.

Costs for UK-Based Medical Aftercare

Independent medical appointments in the UK carry a fee, which is payable directly to the practitioner.

In cases where the need for in-person care is clinically driven, your treating clinician in Istanbul may choose to cover or reimburse this cost. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis and is a decision made by the clinician, not by Luviacure.

Disputes, Second Opinions, and Disagreements

If you have concerns about your outcome and feel these are not being addressed, Luviacure can arrange for an independent second medical opinion from a qualified clinician. We act purely as the intermediary in facilitating this.

If you remain dissatisfied after both your treating clinician's assessment and the independent second opinion, we recommend obtaining a formal medical report from the NHS or from a consultant in the relevant field.

Revision Surgery

If your treating clinician determines that a revision procedure is appropriate, they will arrange for you to return to Istanbul. In many cases, the clinician's own surgical fee is waived for revision procedures.

However, patients remain responsible for all associated costs, which are set independently and include:

  • Anaesthetic fees

  • Theatre and facility charges

  • Implants where applicable

  • Travel and accommodation

This is standard practice across the medical and surgical industry, where clinical fees and facility costs are handled separately.
